Tirthankar “TC” Chakraborty examines the impact of urbanization on climate and extreme weather in coastal regions at PNNL. He contributes to multi-institutional projects such as “Coastal Observations, Mechanisms, and Predictions Across Systems and Scales - Great Lakes Modeling” and "Integrated Coastal Modeling” and is actively involved in efforts to map heat exposure disparities within urban environments using process-based models, machine learning algorithms, and global assessments of urban climate through satellite remote sensing.
